Creating the Chapman Antique Mall has been a dream come true and a labor of love for antique dealers Cathie & Dennis Caldwell. For many years these well respected dealers had been offering their wares in various antique malls throughout Southern CA. Not an easy task since both Cathie and Dennis held regular 9 to 5 jobs as well.

After retiring in 2001 they began to think about turning their years of collecting & selling experience into a full time business. They started looking for the proper venue for their mall and found a vacant historic building in the quaint antique 'mecca' of 'Old Town' Orange. After successfully negotiating a long term lease on the building, Cathie and Dennis let it be known through the antique 'grapevine' that they would be opening a mall and were looking for quality dealers.

Because of their reputation within the antique community they did not have to look very long, and within a few weeks had filled all available spaces and even had to start a waiting list of prospective dealers. After extensive renovations, the Chapman Antique Mall opened for business on Oct 4, 2002.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

In the space of a few short years, this mall has become one of the premier malls and an antiquer's paradise. It is a 'must see' destination for visitors from all over the area.

Cathie Caldwell, who is known throughout the region as the "Jadeite Queen" specializes in all types of Fire-King dinnerware, but especially Jadeite. Fire-King buyers from as far away as Japan come to purchase from the mall. She is also an active collector and seller of all types of Depression era glassware. Dennis Caldwell, on the other hand, is more eclectic in his interests and deals in furniture, artwork and various types of rustic antiques.

The mall boasts over 50 dealers with specialties ranging from antique clocks and radios, to furniture, vintage clothing, and glassware. The variety and the quality of the things that you will find here is far greater than what you will find in most ordinary antique malls and stores.
